Default O.C. Bear - Jefferson - Fingerstyle Guitar -SOLD

For sale is an amazing finger style guitar made by Indiana luthier Clint Bear. Clint is very well respected in the industry and has been building full-time since 2001. His attention to detail is spot on. Clint's builds start at $4,550 and go up from there. Although this one is not a museum piece, this guitar would be north of $6,000 to replace. SOLD

The pros: This particular guitar is cedar over rosewood and is probably the best DADGAD guitar I've ever played. The slightly longer scale make it superb for dropped tunings. Very well balanced and sustains forever... Has a really cool vine inlay and sound port. It is truly a high end hand made guitar and sounds like it. Actually sounds similar to my old Santa Cruz FS at a fraction of the price!!! Comes with a newish Gator case. I have added a K&K Pure Mini.

The cons: A previous owner was obviously a strummer so there are strum marks on the face (that actually look worse in the pictures), a small ding on the face lower bout, there two small areas of finish discoloration on sound hole, and on the back there is a 2" area where the back meets the back strip that you can feel with your fingernail but really hard to photograph. I believe it was from a previous finish repair.

From the website:

The Jefferson
This is a fingerstylist guitar. The Small Jumbo / Auditorium style body with a cutaway and longer ( 25.7" ) scale length make it a great choice for dropped and alternate tunings. The shallower body and light construction make for exceptional tone and ease of playing.

Specs
1-3/4" Nut Width
2-1/4" String Spacing
16" Lower Bout
4 1/4" Body Depth
20" Body Length
4" Sound Hole
14 Fret/Neck Joint
25.7" Scale Length

Wink

The first 2 things people will want to know is nut width & saddle spacing.

I’ve played this guitar, better still, I’ve listen to really good players play it. It is a stellar guitar both visually and sonically. Jeff is one of the good guys. Buy with confidence

Thanks Joel! Just made the cardinal mistake of playing a guitar I’m selling (for about an hour) now I’m second guessing myself....

Thanks so much! I agree, Clint bears work is superb. For the money you’ll never be able to beat this guitar. I had planned to keep it but in a moment of weakness I bought a Breedlove C25 this week. So now I’ve got to sell.
