Default Bentivoglio Guitars

I bought a Bentivoglio guitar. The model is the Genuine 1503c OM-style. I did an unboxing video:

The only question I have about it is the neck. It feels like laminate, but I’m not sure and whether or not that is a good thing or a bad thing.

If any of you have experience with Bentivoglio guitars, please let me know.

All I'd be worried about is whether or not it's comfortable to play.

I've never heard of the brand but, I must say, looking at their guitars I think it would be difficult to go wrong. This all-solid wood guitar is less than $600:

Could you do a review of the guitar; build quality, tone, playability, etc? Looking at those prices, these have seriously piqued my interest...

Any idea what the tariffs/import tax would be on their higher end ones that are over $1000? I'm eying their cocobolo back/sides

I'm interested as to how a neck "feels" like a laminate? Like noticeable ridges/seams? That'd be a dealbreaker for me...

The top is solid but the back and sides are laminate on that one.

10% of any price over $800, so add $100 on to the $1000.

It feels smooth, almost like plastic. Maybe it’s just the coating.

Yeah I don't know how or why a neck would be laminate. The purpose of laminate is to make a very strong yet very THIN piece of wood to be used for tops and sides. Necks are a big thick hunk of wood, not thin layers.

Many builders laminate necks. Martin does it tons of models. Some of the most expensive guitars on the planet have laminated necks - Olson’s are like $50k and they have a laminated neck.

Martin uses gazillion-piece laminated neck.

Reading back, it seems like the OP is confusing laminate with “feels cheap” or “fake”. I’m guessing it’s just the finish on the neck, probably an overly thick poly making it all feel like plastic or like a laminate countertop material as a result. OP?

That’s probably right. It feels more like synthetic than wood, but it might be wood underneath it all.

no idea how they sound but they sure look pretty - even have a diamond volute at the headstock/neck joint reminiscent of Martin's 28-series.

I just heard from the manufacturer.

“Our neck is made of solid wood mahogany.”

Also, the volute is twice the size of most I’ve seen. The type of capo that can sit behind the nut when not used cannot fit around that volute.
