Evan, I use them on my flamenco. I really like them. Easier string changes and protects the bridge.

Sir;

I don't know about the easy part--I find it just as easy to do the traditional wrap. But I think you are right in the bridge protection afforded by the ties. I think what it comes down to, with me, is aesthetics--I like the look of the traditional tie.
