Default Emerald shipping 7/12

A neat bunch this week! This also includes some explanation of the custom work that goes into the nylon string models and a description of the construction and thought process behind the new unidirectional carbon fretboards. Looks like Alistair's losing some weight too.

I was surprised to see a wooden guitar in a background rack. A spy?

Are you sure it's a wooden guitar!!??

A few years ago when I started my build an x 20-12 I asked if they could use a piece of flamed Maple veneer for the neck.... I was told that was something they did not want to attempt at the time. Maybe what you are seeing is a carbon fiber guitar covered in veneer. Secret squirrel stuff...

Cheers...

My 6th sense tells me that 2nd last guitar in the video, that beautiful royal ebony, belongs to you!

It's not quite done - still needs the neck finish knocked back to satin and the pickup prep. They aren't installing one for me (tinkerer...you understand) but are going to prep a hole for the jack separate from the end pin. That's the tape visible on the butt end. It's cool to see it in the flesh. I was not aware that my issue back in December was the catalyst for the new fretboard.

Yes I do understand about tinkering! The fact that your issues led to the new fretboard is really good on them. That was the first Emerald guitar brought forth with a bunch of issues and to see them react and change the fretboard design as a result is amazing. I hope the new one plays like the old one.

Great video and really love how Alastair owns any issues that arise. Emerald is a true class act.

Perhaps some kick-boxing classes are in order?

What was I thinking....to save a measly $700!! Doh!

Actually, I really love the new X30, even with its plain headstock. :-)
