His view on how "the body functions for fingerstyle playing is with a lively responsive back and top. The sides are there to enable efficient transfer of energy between the two. It makes sense to infer that the stiffer the sides are, the more efficient that transfer will be, since energy isn't dissipating due to the sides flexing."

Karan is also building this beauty while working on my guitar. It is a beautiful spalted tamarind OMC. Very unique and visually stunning!

For my rosette, I wanted Karan to use indigenous woods so we chose Indian redwood that has some beautiful flame

I wanted him to do something very simplistic that focuses on the wood. You can also see the lovely bearclaw in the pictures Here is the rosette coming together very nicely

Here is another article on Karan and Bigfoot guitars done by Guitar Connoisseur Magazine. A great read and great to see Karan continuing to make headlines!
https://guitarconnoisseurmagazine.co...yond-rosewood/

Here are some more pics of the rosette:

I absolutely love the top that Karan chose for me. At first he mentioned bearclaw and since I didn't have any bearclaw topped guitars, I thought why not? He was especially fond of this piece because it real old, rang in a haunting way when tapped, and was also super stiff and very light! I remember talking with Kevin Ryan many moons ago when going back and forth on the top of my African Blackwood Cathedral. He said he goes for the stiffest and lightest piece that rings well and at the end of the day, good spruce is good spruce! This particular piece has a very rustic look as well! Here are some pics of the top with back:

and then the guitar in it's torture device:

This build is also a special build because its also a birth year guitar in honor of our daughter Emmaline Ray. Karan says she's a good brand ambassador. I said that sounds much better than a mascot!

I am absolutely loving this build, seeing the guitar come together, and more importantly the relationship being built with Karan. He is giving me timely updates and the fun part is that when I wake up to help my wife feed the baby, I wake up to new pictures of the guitar coming together! This is fun to help make the sleepless nights a little more entertaining! Here are a few pics of the body together! I am absolutely loving the old rustic look

We are going with ebony binding on this one. We wanted to keep it simple and clean. The dark ebony will draw more attention to the sharp lines on the back and the beautiful rustic top. Its coming together quite nicely

Thanks Mike! We'll have to get together when it comes to NOVA

Here are pictures of the endgraft Karan is doing on my Mod D. This is Indian Redwood to match the rosette

I love these short video teasers that Karan sends to me

I would love that!
You might even get to see my poor first attempt at building an acoustic guitar. Won't be finished till May or June, but if you ever get around my area when t is finished, I'd love a critique from someone who has played some fantastic guitars!

I am absolutely in love with that Ghamar. Maybe for Bigfoot #2?

Here are some more pictures of the neck:
