Software Recommendations (garage band alike)
Hi guys, I used to have an ipad but now I don t anymore. Is theRe any free/downloadable software that you could recommend for good recordings. I already have audacity, but I am looking for a program that I can use to make some good bases (drums, bass, keyboard) to play guitar and sing on them. Just like Garage Band, but for PC. Any suggestions??? What do you guys use for that kind of stuff??

Reaper is free to download/try, $60 to register it. It's a full-featured DAW, so there is a bit of a learning curve.

I also recommend this.
I use it since 2007 -- after trying Cubase and Traktion for a few years -- and I'm still happy with it... Here's the url: http://www.reaper.fm/ The user guide is free to download: http://www.reaper.fm/userguide.php

I use Cakewalk Sonar X3 Producer Version and Adobe Audition CS6. I wouldn't want to be without either. X3 for it's midi applications and Pro Channel, and Audition for it's noise reduction and editing features. I can record audio with either application, but I have been using Sonar for making recordings, and Audition to do editing and final polishing.
Costs lots of money but it's worth it to me to have all those audio tools available on my computer.
