Breedlove neck joint fix recommendation
I have a performance Focus Breedlove guitar and the neck joint separation gap is quite large.
You can see the photos here. https://photos.app.goo.gl/43YUU7UPbpLex1Ke8 Is there anyway I can fix it myself? I do see a hex hole inside the soundhole where the neck joint meets. If I can find an Allen wrench, I can tighten it. Will that work? Also there's a gap between the fingerboard and the body where it meets the neck. What do you recommend? Thanks for your help in advance. |

That "hex hole" is the truss rod adjustment nut, wont help this issue.I would contact Christie Mearse at Breedlove and see if the neck can be reset.I had one of their imports and she told me they couldnt do a reset on the imports.

There was a separate truss rod cover on the head so I assume it's different. This is a US made model so I will reach out to their customer support. Thanks for that suggestion.

Looks like there is indeed a headstock adjust truss rod and hex bolt for the neck. Looks most likely that it can solve the gap

There are 2 hex screws at the head block.
I tried tightening both but they are already too tight. It looks very similar to the video below. https://youtu.be/4NrmT9PyWpE?t=212 Now, are all Breedlove USA necks GLUED to the body? If that's the case, I'd rather not deal with this neck reset. I also reached out multiple times to Christie Mearse at Breedlove but haven't heard back. This seems to be a lost cause so I may have to return it... |
