External Smartphone Microphone

Any recommendations for an external smartphone mic? I've been recording myself more lately and am realizing the mic on my smartphone (Google Pixel 2) is less than desirable. I'm not looking for anything fancy, just a simple external mic to get some improved audio out of my phone recordings.

Shure has several USB/Lightning plug and play mics.

I have the MV51 which sounds real good to me. Kind of bulky but I think it looks cool I use it with an iPad or iPhone, not sure how it will play with your phone.

I've got a couple of friends who do nice single-mic recordings with external phone mics. I don't know exactly what they are, but I'm sure you could message them on Facebook and they'd be happy to tell you.
