Well, most of us with our Scarlets and Behringers are sitting this thread out.

None of us are interface shaming. We all work within our own budgets and goals. I have no issue with anyone who enjoys their Scarlets and my problem with Behringer, which I don't think I've ever mentioned here, is how litigious the company has become. But those feelings are reserved for the company, not for any of the folks here.

So go on, tell us what you're using. Heck, post a picture of yourself with it ...just make sure you're wearing pants.

I don't know why ?
I would guess the Scarlet series is one of, if not the most popular interfaces here on AGF and in home recording in general.
And rightfully so, as a good solid value priced offering. I have two friends who use Scarlets. I don't know anybody using Behringer so can't comment.

I'm being a bit facetious about the Scarlet. You can get excellent results with it. Even if the preamps aren't world-class, they are pretty good--I think the difference between bedroom budget and world-class studio is far narrower today than it was in the analog days of yore. Though I do wish the SSL2 had been available when I needed a new interface a few years back.

So, Scarlett 2i2 user here.

I think aside from the preamps, the other big difference is going to be the converters. But as the majority of people using the Scarlet and other budget friendly interfaces aren't likely to be using high end monitors, the difference may not be readily noticeable.

I would venture to say that even a modest digital interface meets or exceeds the specifications of equipment that recorded what we would consider the greatest music of past generations.

As such it has largely dropped out of the equation for making great music.

I use three different interfaces. For most recording I use a Behringer UMC404HD. For live mixing and recording, especially with multiple musicians, I use a Behringer XR18 digital mixer with eighteen-channel output via USB. For live Zoom sessions I'm using a Behringer X1204USB analog mixer with a stereo pair USB output.
