Traveling Band: "Take me down to Memphis on a midnight ride." My brother insisted that he was singing take me down to "Mipknees"-- wherever the heck that is. We had some great arguments as kids, and he kept at it long after he understood where Memphis was just to get a rise out of me 50 plus years later we still talk about heading for Mipknees.

Kodachrome: "I got a Nikon camera" was a line I never understood when I first heard it as a kid. Could not figure out what the heck he was singing.

Barry Manalow, yea I said Barry Manalow tells a story. A little girl came up to him and said she loved the song “ Looks Like Tomatoes”, instead of “Looks Like We Made it”

Thanks for all the laughs guys and gals, I had some good chuckles. We did an open mic and sang “Bathroom on the Right” every time the proper line came up.

We sang Kodachrome around a campfire (we are in our 60s) with a bunch of 20 somethings. Had to explain that Kodachrome was film.....this thing we had to put inside a camera to take pictures. Lots of blank stares

Hmmmm, I like the 2 L version better. Sounds more sfisticatted! Yep,

Vincent by Don McLean. My wife used to think he was painting his parrot blue and grey.

I had the sheet music to this song and as the lyrics were written beneath the music and so 'in time' with the music the page read: -
You took your life as lovers of ten do
Always thought he was a bit of a Casanova.

British comedian Peter Kay has a misheard lyrics routine on You tube but is a bit 'adult' in nature so I won't post here. Might be worth a search if you feel it might interest you. You'll never listen to Shania Twain in the same way.

Haven't seen that for a while, cheers for the reminder. I was at one of the shows in Manchester, the man is a genius.

"Dance, dance, wherever you may be
For I am the Lord of the Damp Settee..."

Once in a meeting early during the design of a 700 seat theater for a big high school, the topic of (acoustic) clouds over the stage came up. In a perfect deadpan I responded with, "I've looked at clouds from both sides now". Everyone over 40 in the room lost it completely, but the younger folks had no clue whatsoever.

I still have a few unexposed rolls of Kodachrome in storage somewhere with the rest of my film stuff, but it has been at least ten years since the very last lab in Dallas closed that could actually process that slide film. They took my Kodachrome away..... It was always my favorite, even though I could develop E6 slide film myself. Oh well.

First time I heard Dylan’s Knockin’ On Heaven’s Door, I thought he was singing “Knockin’ on Kevin’s Door”

A friend of mine used to think that in What A Wonderful World Louis Armstrong was singing “The dogs say goodnight “ instead of “The dark sacred nights.”
