Smile 2016 Collings OM1 E SS VN. Minty! SOLD AGF, cheers

2016 Collings OM1 E SS VN AS NEW

SOLD AGF! play on gang....

On its way to Raleigh NC, with a Tone Rite in the case pocket!!!

I would like to move this on to a great home this weekend. HIT ME WITH YOUR OFFERS.

Considerable interest here! I suggest making your move soon if you want this!!!

MORE Pics on Reverb: https://reverb.com/item/33317316-col...1-e-ss-vn-2016

Top: Engelmann Spruce
Back & Sides: Mahogany
Neck: Vintage Now Profile
Nut Width: 1 & 3/4"
Saddle spacing: 2.25"
Scale: 24.9"
Year: 2016--Serial# 25830

No modifications, repairs, pickup or strap buttons, ever!

This Beautiful Collings is Clean as a whistle. As close to mint as a pre-owned axe could be. Cherry, Cherry, baby....

Almost no fret wear, and I can not find a ding on her.

The VINTAGE NOW neck is a super comfy cross between a C and a V.

The beautiful silky Engleman top (with some cool grain lines) and the short scale combine to yield a FAT WARM, ENVELOPING TONE.

The playability is perfect for fingerstyle with action at the 12th fret at just about 5/64" E and 4.5/64" e.

Neck angle is correct
Low low relief for playing comfort. It had a pro setup for low action last summer, and my Tech gave it a clean bill of health today.

All braces, binding and bridge are as new and tightly glued.

The chrome Waverly tuners are smooth and stable and nice and shiny too.

The six latch TKL Collings branded case is also in as new condition. Smells just a bit new. That is a good thing. Has a super comfy padded leather handle too.

Has been hanging in my humidity monitored music room with a Tone-Rite since I got it.

Will ship with new Elixir Phosphor Bronze Light Nano strings and a super clean Fretboard.

I recently took this in trade and must move it along to its next home. I stick to 12 frets anymore and this is way to minty for me to gig!!!

This from the original owner:
"Collings does amazing things with Mahogany, and when you pair that with a short-scale, you end up with a dynamic powerhouse ready to do anything called for! Warm, woody, and clear is how I would describe her tone. And with fantastic playability."

As always this will ship extremely robustly packed and ready for interstellar travel.
Insured on my Heritage account and signature required

Happy to answer any questions or just yak guitars!

619-446-1189. 9-9 or so PDT. Land line. No text please as I won't get it!

Everyone stay home, stay well, and play beautiful music!

Paul

Smile Good question Stevien!

Off to measure...

2.25" at the Saddle. Sorry Stevien. Measured with my digital calipers, at the small string, parallel with the frets

Feels great to me but I have smaller hands.

I will add to the post!

Cheers

Paul

This looks to be a beauty and hard to find spec combination unless custom ordered. Gtlws!

The vintage now (VN designation) neck should have a 2 5/16" bridge spacing as opposed to 2 3/16" on the standard modified v necks. Actual/exact measurements may vary slightly.

I think the specs depend upon the year. I believe the VN spacing started out @ 2 5/16", & got slightly narrower in recent years.

Smile 2.25" Saddle spacing.

Irregardless of what may be "supposed to happen", the Saddle spacing measures 2.25" parallel with the frets where the small e meets the Saddle.

I have received multiple trade offers but I need to SELL this. Still a couple too many in the quiver. SIGH...

Reasonable offers will be considered! Thanks

Everyone stay home, stay well, and have fun.

Paul

Smile Collings prices :

I had a question about the cost of this

This from FELLOWSHIP OF ACOUSTICS: In EUROS!

I did not realize how much the options on this puppy cost! Hahaha

https://www.tfoa.eu/en/service/collings-custom-opties/

Let's get out the pencil.... . With the VN neck, SS, and Engleman top it appears to be $5,586.20 LIST at today's exchange rate.

Of course almost nothing sells for list, but I believe Collings does not discount near as much as many larger builders.

Perhaps someone with more Collings expertise than I will chime in here to help? Por Favore!

Cheers

Paul

Smile Thanks Bobby!

Thanks SuperB23! You know the good ones. I wish our Brozeman had a bit smaller neck... sigh. It was SO BEAUTIFUL.

As for this Collings beauty, I have had multiple trade offers and a couple tentative offers... I do not expect it to linger here, especially as I found it originally cost considerably more than I thought!

I believe NOW $3150. Was $3300 to me, shipped and insured on me is more than fair, but I will haggle a bit! Haha

Please call me and let's talk if you are seriously interested.

Again: 619-445-1189. This is a landline so text won't work, thank goodness!

9 AM to 9 PM or so, Pacific daylight time works best! Thanks

Stay well and have fun at home. Play lots of guitar!

Paul

Folks, as the original owner of this guitar I will flat out tell you that she sounds, and feels amazing! I live two miles away from a Collings dealer and I bet I've played no fewer than a hundred different guitars from them. I'm a huge fan of the Collings tone and feel, but this one easily set itself apart. The Engelmann top was responsive. The VN neck felt great, and the short scale was a dream to play. If you like Collings, and you like the OM size...you simply can't go wrong here. Oh, and Paul is one of the best guys I've dealt with. Honest, courteious, and most importantly...fun. Deal with confidence.

Smile Thanks Hart!!!

This one is a real peach for sure.

And Hart was equally great to deal with.

Multiple AGFers kicking the tires. I expect it will be gone soon....

Stay home, stay well, have fun playing guitar!
