Hi Jimmy, Sean here again on behalf of Alistair! Alistair takes 60 layers of thin carbon fibre sheet, layers them to make a solid block that’s cured. After that he cuts out the shape of the headstock and carves the end product by hand in a very time-consuming process. “This gives you a beautiful layering effect reminiscent of a wood grain pattern. Under the clear coat you see all the nice layers of carbon weave," said Alistair. For more information on our Nylon guitars go to http://www.emeraldguitars.com/breaki...nylon-guitars/

Wow, love it! The headstock design is exquisite...I agree that the stepped tuner mounts are neat. The X20 body look in this X10N is surprising, but I love it. I assume the body is smaller/thinner than the X20? Again, I'm not a nylon guy, but this guitar is way cool. I hope it sounds great and is everything you've been hoping for, Evan! I hope to hear sound clips.

That's a lovely guitar, Evan. I look forward to your review.

And as I've said before, that is the most beautiful headstock I've ever seen!

Sean - any chance of a photo of the X10 with an X20 for comparison?

It does look smaller/thinner, but it's hard to tell by itself.

Could we get a sound as well as a visual comparison?

I am pretty thrilled with this instrument and can hardly wait to get it in my hands. I have been very pleased with my older X10N but then Alistair's continual explorations of what a guitar can be led to the X20-OSN. I liked the X20 nylon but found that I preferred the X10 size. So, it was back to the drawing board with my favorite features from the X10N and innovations derived from the X20-OSN.

Those of us in the CF world are really lucky to be where and when we are. Rainsong, CA, Blackbird, Emerald, Journey, all are changing the look and nature of guitars and we are the focus group and the beneficiaries. Sweet!

Oh man, that is such a beautiful guitar! Could the slotted headstock become an option on other models? It's beautiful.

I continue to revisit this thread to view the pics of Evan's new nylon, and the more I look at it, the more I like it. If it turns out to feel and play as good as it looks, then Alistair has really hit this one out of the ballpark. I hope it impresses Evan to the extent that he has found his ultimate nylon.

I'm really curious about the specs compared to the X20, and even other guitars, especially in terms of body size and volume/projection. If this is the new body look for the steel string version, I am intrigued. In fact, I'd like to see how a solid variation of this new headstock shape would look on a steel string X10 or X20.

Evan, it looks like you and Alistair have hit another "home run." Beautiful headstock!

I look forward to your review ... I know it will warm us up here in frozen Michigan
