yamaha apxt2 tuner stopped working
Can the tuner be replaced? Do you think it can be a DIY with a replacement?

Silly question--is the battery dead? Does the pickup still work? I had a Yamaha guitar once with the 2 AA setup and the terminals on the battery springs got corroded. I used a few tools to remove the corrosion and that did the trick.
If the pickup still works and just the tuner quit, I'm not so sure.

I replaced the batteries and the pick-ups work.

If you could find the replacement preamp, it's probably more expensive than a decent headstock tuner. Maybe give Yamaha a call and see if you can get one? If you have any friends who are electronics gurus, they could probably figure it out. Most music shops charge minimum $40 bench fee just to look at stuff like that. Several options. Good luck...
