Default Classical Guitar technique at its very best

There's been a lot of interest in classical guitars and classical guitar technique lately on AGF, so I thought I'd submit a video of Marcin Dylla, a 32 year-old virtuoso from Poland. Marcin is widely regarded as one of the finest young classical guitar players on the planet and his technique is amazingly clean and precise. He combines technical prowess with musicality and emotion. Here he plays Joaquin Rodrigo's "Junta al Generalife". Pay particular attention to Dylla's amazing classical-style vibrato section at 2:40. Enjoy!

Absolutely beautiful playing! Love the technique that allows the music to be so expressive. I'll be looking for more of Dylla!

The way he churns out that high note by alternating his right-hand fingerpicking fingers.....is amazing. You can't even see it happening.

very nice

A pleasure to watch and hear. He's in control, for sure.

BTW, the technique starting at around 2:40 is tremolo, rather than vibrato. Vibrato is done with the fretting hand, like what he's doing at 2:32. Tremolo is repeated hitting of a note or notes on a string, usually in triplets, using the playing hand and usually using a, m, i fingers.

Shame on me...I know better - tremolo not vibrato! As my dear mother used to say as she looked at me...."too many games without a helmet."

Glad everyone is enjoying Marcin Dylla. He's destined to be one of great classical guitarists of our era.

Wow!!!! It's deceptively simple. Meaning, he makes it look easy. I also can't believe no one has remarked on his hands; they're HUGE!.

Reminds me a lot of David Russell's playing...but he has that same great tremolo as Pepe Romero...

hi guys
tremolo in classical guitar is right hand pami. thumb ring, middle, index

heres a demo from my blog i have included some information on tarrega's recuerdos de la alhambra

http://www.chrisliang.com/index.php/...rrega/2009/10/

other tremolo songs
Barrios has a couple of highly challenging tremolo songs: “Un Sueño En La Floresta” and “El Ultimo Tremolo” (Una Limosnita por el Amor de Dios).

Thanks, Chris. The link you posted didn't work for me, but I found your demonstration at:

I can clearly see and hear the technique....very good! Thanks for posting it!

Dang!! Very, very masterful. Thats some guitar playing that I can only dream of doing. Totally different planet.

No disrespect at all but for some reason that really reminded me of this clip.
