Guild F-412
I would like to buy a Guild F-412 of more recent vintage. I need a guitar with the single truss rod, modern neck profile. Late Tacoma or New Hartford guitars in excellent condition. Older Guilds don’t work well in my hands.
I had one. The person who sold it to me expressed regret selling as it had been a gift from his brother, so I returned what I had thought was a “forever” guitar. It was the right thing to do. I can pay a fair price, but not an enormous premium. I’ve scoured the internet and can’t find one. If anyone can point me towards one, it would be very much appreciated. Thanks! I owned a Tacoma-built F-412NT for many years and loved it. One will turn up and it will be worth the wait!

I've been looking for you too but nothing showing up at the moment.
I looked for the closest Taylor equivalent the other day, the 655 maple 12-string jumbo and there's none of those for sale anywhere too! People must be hanging on to their maple jumbo 12's ... for good reason, they are great.

There were literally four for sale here in Oregon when I bought the one in February. So I’m not stressing. I do think the right one will appear. I am considering the older ones if they have a 1 13/16th nut. I guess I’ll have to try one. I also put a question out just now about a Taylor I see that has a cutaway. But that Guild really stole me heart. I know selling it back to the guy was the right thing to do. But I do miss it! Lots of guitars out there. I’ll find one eventually. Maybe other models...
If I can get a really, really good deal on a Taylor I might consider it. Also might look at the Guild F512 or F212xlce with the single truss rod. A cutaway is somewhat appealing.
Not in a rush though. Looking for that right guitar at the right price. I know there are nice 12-strings out there collecting dust. |
