I don't think they're terrible, but I'm not crazy about Epiphone in general. Quality control department seems almost non-existent. The shop I give lessons at is an Epiphone dealer. Guitars always come in with finish flaws, cases don't latch properly , etc. Some of the guitars don't sound bad, but for some of the prices - especially the Masterbuilts - I'd much rather go with a lower-end Martin or Taylor.

I have a Epiphone Drm500MCE and I have had it about 4 years. Im not really sure what to think about it. With new strings it sounds great and on some days it sounds great but even sounding great I tend to feel that it is lacking something. It surely is not terrible and I can't really compare it to much because I have only had a couple of other acoustics and that was years ago. This summer I may buy a new acoustic and this time I will be trying out anything I buy in a store. Sometimes the Sweetwater 36 month no interest has it's drawbacks.
