Arrow SOLD Tippin Bravado Koa

One of a kind. I got this in a trade with a fellow AGFer and thought it was one I'd keep forever, but life has found a way to jump in the way, so she and a few others have to find new homes. This is one very unique and beautiful guitar that if you’re a lover of Koa, you’ll want to see the pictures. I had heard how great Tippins were, but after playing, I realized exactly how truly special they are, it feels awesome in your hands, the neck is extremely comfortable and playable, the sound is beautifully balanced with a deep bass, warm mids and well defined trebles, plus this Tippin has the added attraction of the beauty of very rare Birdseye Koa. Bill Tippin is always one of the luthiers mentioned whenever there’s a “top luthier” post going around and this guitar is definite proof of his abilities. He used only the highest grade materials such as Birdseye Koa back and sides, Carpathian Spruce top, Mahogany neck, Spalted rosette, Ebony fretboard, Maple and Snakewood binding, Brazilian Rosewood bridge, a Tippin half diamond inlay at first fret and Gold Gotoh 510 tuners, nothing but the best. Add in the upgraded Double X floating brace and you have a special guitar for the eyes and ears. Considered a shallow body jumbo, it has a 1 ¾” nut, 2 ¼” string spacing. 25.7” scale, 4 ½” body depth, 16 3/16” lower bout, 20 13/16” body length. Built in March of 2005, it has had time to mature and develop its lush sound. It may not be new, but this guitar has been kept in near perfect condition, there are no marks to show in pictures, it’s unbelievably impeccable for a ten year old guitar, I would say 9.8 out of 10. Asking $8500, I talked to Mr. Tippin and he said if he was to make this guitar today, the price would be $15,000. He liked it so much that he put a picture of it on his website. Comes with Tweed TKL case. Sorry, can't do trades. Thanks for looking, Jim

I second that! I am a sucker for koa, but this Tippin's koa is just on a whole different level.

I've seen a lot of koa, living in hawaii. This is one of a kind.
And if Bill Tippin says it rocks then it does.
Anyway what Tippin doesn't?

If I didn't have a build going on with Mark Hatcher right now, I know how this story would end.....

Good luck on the sale!

Thanks for the comments and bberry thanks for the trade offer for 15 acres, although inviting, I can't accept due to having a sale pending.

Awesome guitar, and yea, some of the COOLEST Koa ever!

I own a Tippin that was built for the 2013 Healdsburg Show... I was struggling with the amount of green I had into a single guitar, and I decided to consign the guitar last year out of guilt... Literally about everyday for 3 months I thought to myself "what am I doing"... When 2015 came and a few things went my way over the Holidays, I saw it as the perfect time to treat myself and I took it back I'm SO happy I did... I LOVE IT! Bill works wonders with his instruments... Having owned a ton of fine guitars, My Tippin gets me places that few instruments have ever taken me Congrats!
