Welp…it took about 5 years but now I’m kicking myself daily for selling my D18GE. I got it for 2300…seems like a steal now! |

I was wondering how this thread got bumped back up. What did you end up getting after selling the D-18GE? Those got for around 3000+ now?

Another vote to keep the D-18GE. The D-18 is a classic. I would definitely consider the HD-28 or 000-28 for a rosewood Martin. If money was no object a 000-42 is a beautiful piece of art work and they sound incredible.

Don't do it! When it's gone, you will regret it. Just buy a second guitar.

I ended up getting a nice used Eastman E20D with a K&K pure mini. It was just over a third of the price of the D18GE. At that point in my life it was a wise financial decision. I still own the E20D and it’s about time to have the frets addressed. I have gigged with it and it has some dents and dings and cracking to the finish but it doesn’t pain me too much because of what it is. I considering the Golden Era the one the that got away though. Maybe I’ll have the opportunity to own another one day. |
