On And On
My arrangement of Stephen Bishop's great tune, "On And On". I came up with this version when noodling around one night and stumbling on something that jogged my memory of the song. I later found that Bishop plays it in C and quite differently. Of course he has a band backing him up. Oh, and his falsetto reaches just a hair beyond my range!
Anyway, after too many takes trying to get a decent groove I gave up and stuck with this one, though the vocal is a bit too strident for my taste. Oh, well. On to the next tune.

I really enjoyed this, Paul! Thank you very much for posting this wonderful tune. Your playing of it is terrific, and your voice fits better than you realize. Strident is not a word that comes to mind anywhere during this video. Thanks again.

Wow, Paul…really well done. I enjoyed that very much. Thanks for the share.
Speaking of the high notes reminds me that I saw Livingston Taylor a couple of times and he performed this song. Before he started he announced that “the last note is a high A (or whatever) and I don’t sing that note”. He then charged the audience with filling in the last note of the song, which we did of course. It was a great way to add some humor and audience interaction to his performance. Again, nice job Paul. Paul - that was great and better than Bishop’s version! I never liked the production of the original and of course it was overplayed. It sounds much better as a solo piece.

What a great version. Your singing is great! And the arrangement and playing too!
I owned this LP and played it to death. I think I worked out a version of "Save it for a rainy day" once. His vocals are unique.
