FSOT: First in Series 2013 D-28 Authentic 1937 2014 NAMM Guitar $4500
This guitar is well documented on UMGF, and I acquired it from the original owner, a respected forum member. It’s the original 2014 NAMM Guitar built in 2013, and featured in this Martin video:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NamyI6jLwfw It’s a powerhouse with that throaty low end that is the hallmark of a great D-28. The sides have some very nice grain, and the Adi top shows rare diagonal interlocking grain that’s difficult to photograph. This guitar has gigged some and shows some scuffs and playwear (mostly around the pickguard), but it’s been well cared for and there are no significant dings/scratches and very little fretwear. When I acquired the guitar the neck angle was not ideal, so I had Bryan Kimsey do a (very slight) neckset, nut, saddle & setup. The guitar is now set up perfectly w/plenty of saddle: Action: .07 / .1” Neck relief: .006” Low E string is 7/16” from the top I’m coming to terms with the fact that I prefer mahogany guitars, so I’m hoping to replace this w/the right D-18. My only trade interest is an Adi/Mahogany dread with a 1 & 3/4” nut, preferably with a dovetail neck joint and 2 & 5/16” string spacing. Otherwise $4500 takes it. Strap-button installed, Antique Acoustics bridgepins/endpin, OHSC. Link to photos: https://www.icloud.com/sharedalbum/#B0oGI9HKKG1DFAe Last edited by gfarina55; 01-29-2018 at 09:03 PM. |

Thx for the trade offers. Still looking for a stellar Adi/Mahogany dread of comparable quality.
