Epi Masterbuilt DR-400MCE
Is anyone familiar with this guitar? Epiphone DR-400MCE. Right now I play an old Fender and would like to get something nicer with a pickup. Does all solid woods make a big sound difference compared to laminate? I have played the Laminate Martins and a friends Taylor and wasn’t as wowed as when I played a Seagull.

I own two Epiphone masterbilts and I think solid wood makes a big difference. I traded a Martin dx1 for a dr500r about 11 years ago and never looked back. Buy with confidence your getting a great guitar. The second one is a dr500m with a gloss top and its my favorite guitar.

If you think about it, the round-shoulder design goes all the way back to Gibson's roots in the 1930s, whereas square-shouldered models are more of a Martin thing. Anyway, I own three of the AJ-500, and they are very popular. Here's what one sounds like: |
