If it was the J-14 fret body I'd love it.

I've heard Martin reps say (or at least imply) that CFM !V designs these apparent Gibson knockoffs as a tongue-in-cheek reminder to Gibson and us that Gibson hasn't developed anything that Martin didn't do first in its storied past. Nothing against Gibson acoustics ( I like a lot of them), but I think he's at least partly right. |

The Gibson Jumbo (OJ, J35, J45, J50, SJ) were not based on Martin designs. They were original to Gibson, as was the SJ200 Super Jumbo. And Gibson absolutely invented the carve-top guitar and F style mandolins. Martins archtop guitars were a complete flop.

Another surprise for me from NAMM 2019 - that would be superb next to my CEO7!
So far, after not remembering anything from last year’s NAMM, I am looking at a very large wishlist! BluesKing777. |

While checking the specs on this model on the Martin site, I noticed it specifies binding in Style 30.
This indicates a multi-color rope binding, which is beyond cool! My custom shop 00 in my sig has this and it stands out nicely.

Yeah, the photo on the Martin sight shows it. I agree that it looks great.

I played one yesterday at my local shop and OMG. I am going to have to take the Gibson L OO Standard I got back at Christmas in for the direct comparison. I was totally smitten by the CEO 9. It is absolutely wonderful sounding.

At that price, I'll likely grab a couple.
