Default Flatsawn back and sides?

I know quartersawn straight grain is the way to go but has anyone built with flatsawn with OK results?

Thanks Martin,

I have a shot at some interesting wood (tonally) that's pretty hard to come by, but its not quartersawn so I think I'll chance it.

By the word 'chance' I get the feeling that using flat sawn back and sides might seem more risky to you, like say working with or negatively effecting tone?
As m edwards said, it's very common.
Its critical that the soundboard is vertical grain. Also the bridge and bracing from what I know (correct me if I'm wrong about that one).
Everything else should be fine and practical IMO
