12 fret dreadnought plans?
Hi, I'm just getting into guitar building and I'm interested in building a 12 fret dreadnought. I can't find plans anywhere, I know the neck will be different from a standard dreadnought, but I assume the bracing will have to be changed to accomodate shifting the bridge placement. I can't find plans anywhere, can anyone point me in the right direction?

I guess you've tried people like Stewmac ?
Collings make the best version, they might be willing to help. another thought, there is a guy in Sweden - who has put many pics up on the UMGF. He makes 12 fret dreads. Try him on http://www.marklund-guitars.com Hope that helps. Always happy to assist anyone who promote the "proper" dreadnought!

Not cheap, but gives you an idea of bracing. Bracing looks very similar to 14-fret bracing. All you need is an outline which you can trace from an example or scale from plans or photos. |
