Default New Dune Trailer

Trailer theme music is "Eclipse" by Pink Floyd. Looks good so far.

I’m really looking forward to this! I really like Villeneuve’s work and I think he’ll do a great job! It looks good on the teaser...

Big fan of the books.

In my opinion, they've already got it wrong. Paul looks like a young man - where in the book, he looks like a kid - which is why he was underestimated (and challenged) by Jamis.

Oh I don’t know; in the 80s film he was played by Kyle MacLachlan who was young but definitely didn’t look like a kid.

I see what you mean on the other hand though I am sure he will get away with it - from the short clips on the teaser he seams to be portraying a late-teenager which should work.

I'm really looking forward to this. Big Frank Herbert fan, I even like the movie from the 80s.

I will miss Sting in the new movie.......

Another bit of good news is Apple TV+ is doing a series on Issac Asimov's Foundation, another great science fiction series of books. Covid 19 has delayed shooting, unfortunately.

I just hope it doesn't bomb financially like the director's previous film (Blade Runner 2049 - which was great but didn't recoup its budget), since they're splitting the book into two films.

If ya'll haven't seen The King on Netflix it is absolutely fantastic.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_King_(2019_film)

Chalamet is fantastic as Henry V, although the plot takes a few liberties from Shakespeare's plays, no biggie, still a fantastic movie centered around the Battle of Agincourt.

I visited Agincourt almost exactly eight years ago. There is a little museum and some field markers, but the farmer's fields bear little resemblance to the description given from contemporary accounts. Nonetheless it feels like hallowed ground.

At the risk of encouraging thread drift, I have to agree. I thought The King was superb, and Chalamet's presence in Dune makes it even more likely that I'll see it.

Yes, sorry about the tangent. I am a big Dune fan, and am having a hard time wrapping my mind around a remake.

Huge Dune fan. I did not really care for the Sting version. This seems closer to the book, from what one can tell from a trailer. Look forward to seeing it.

Splitting it into 2 movies sounds like a good move. I was a huge Dune fan when the 80's film came out. It started out okay, but then they tried to cram way too much plot into the last 1/4 of the movie, and it was a big disappointment. Am looking forward to this one.
