Clinesmith Guitars' shop in Oregon has burned
Todd Clinesmith, maker of Clinesmith Console, Resonator, and Lap Steel Guitars, has lost his shop in Idleyld Park. It was a total loss. The family is safe and their goats and pigs made it. For some reason his adjacent house with cedar siding survived, thank God, but the shop with all his tools, tooling, and carefully collected wood, is gone. He and his wife worked really hard every year to clear the undergrowth around his house and shop.
Here is a shot of him surveying the loss... He has already located some possible shop space to rent and is planning to rebuild. He's looking for the tools he'll need, He's looking for a Bridgeport Milling Machine and a South Bend lathe in the surrounding states and is willing to travel to get them. He'll be taking orders on his steel bars but asks for patience as he works through the challenges. More, HERE. Bob

How awful. I’m very familiar with his work, particularly from lusting after his beautiful lap steels, which would show up on the Steel Guitar Forum periodically.
Thank goodness his house was spared, at least.

John Greven is out there in Portland, Oregon building guitars now. I wonder how he's doing in this current mess.
