Default question about a D'Angelico

On the MF Stupid Deal this guitar is listed:

D'Angelico Premier Series Gramercy CS Cutaway Orchestra Acoustic-Electric Guitar

I can't see to find any info anywhere on the nut width, whether or not it has a solid top. I realize the back and sides are laminated, no way a guitar at that price point is all solid wood. I always am on the lookout for decent entry-level guitars for my students, although I have a few brands that I sell already. But this one with electronics (questionable quality, I'm sure) might be something that a certain couple of my students may be interested in. Any info - especially from anyone who owns one - would be appreciated, thanks!

Gene

I don't have any experience with this brand of guitar. I associate them with electrics, generally.

BTW....any relation to the Boston Bruins legend Ray Borque?

Are you referring to this guitar,

https://www.musiciansfriend.com/guit...77820000002000

Says it is a laminated top in the description.

Odd thing about the D'Angelico I have a 12 string Premier Gramercy that is a solid top and laminated rosewood back grand auditorium. Seems confusing that the orchestra size of the same name would be so different.

Yes, but it also says laminated mahogany. That doesn’t look like a hog top to me.

Ha! I've been getting that question for the last 40 years! No, Ray and I are not related as far as I know. There are a lot of people in New England with my last name, most likely because of our ancestors coming down from French Quebec.

Click on the show more square a little further down the page. It is an all laminate guitar and I think it said 1 and eleven sixteen nut width.

That's actually not a bad price for an electric/acoustic.
Of course unplugged it probably won't stop you in your tracks...
