Default Do you DADGAD players dedicate one guitar for it?

I guess you can’t just have one guitar, can you?

I try to, but somehow most of my guitars manage to end up in DADGAD in spite of my best efforts at designating different guitars to different tunings :-)

Usually I have 2 in DADGAD and 1 in CGDGAD, but like Doug says, they all end up being in the same tuning of the latest tune I'm working on.

I prefer keeping a guitar in DADGAD, partly so I can optimize the strings to the tuning.

I usually have one guitar that is in either Drop D, Double Drop D or DADGAD, one in standard, and one in either Gsus4/4 or Csus4add9.
Best,

I have one guitar and I retune. It's only 3 strings and doesn't take long. I do tend to spend most of a session in a given tuning rather than repeatedly retuning though.

I have 2!

I have my Lowden 022 in DADGAD full time, unbeatable really. I have no pickup in it, but have a Sunrise that I throw in the soundhole. Excellent plus!

I also have my Taylor 717e with ES2 pickup onboard run to my Tonedexter, ready to play live if I ever get to that again, virus permitting.

I keep my A25 in DADGAD, with the odd excursion into other tunings, usually DGDGBE.

Tuning on my other guitars varies - even standard sometimes...

Yeah I keep one in DADGAD almost permanently. But I might tune the one I'm playing to it rather than swap.

I also keep one guitar in DADGAD and it usually stays there while my other guitars have their dedicated tunings.

Three, kind of. The McIlroy, Taylor and the Gibson parlor are always in alternate tunings of some sort. The Martin, 12-string, PRS and Cordoba are usually in standard.

I don't recall that the Mac has EVER been played in standard tuning.

1 in DADGAD
1 in open G
1 in "Rainsong" tuning (open Gsus)
1 in drop D
2 in standard
The rest have their strings loosened because they aren't played much.
