Default Dried cracking on fretboard

What is it called when the fretboards looks dried out, with what appears to be hairline cracking?
Example here. You have to zoom in to see it.

Is it a structural issues, or more superficial? Any remedies?

It appears to be "product" in the pores of the fingerboard wood. It likely needs only to cleaned well to remove the white-coloured product that has filled the pores. Naptha and steel wool would probably clean it up.

Wax or polish in the pores, as Charles said.

Minor fingerboard cracking can be easily repaired with thin CA, and it very rarely is a structural issue.
