The Blackbird of Mullaghmore

(and others)

John Martyn

I have Doug Young's book that has already been mentioned and a couple of my favorite tunes in DADGAD are:

Sandwood Down to Kyle: arranged and played by John Renbourn (there is a tutorial on youtube) and
Citi na cGuman: arrranged and played by William Coulter. Dale, (maplebaby) a forum member here, also does a lovely job of playing this tune.

Best,
Jayne

Some interesting tunes, all instrumentals, are on Al Petteway's Mountain Guitar cd. Many of the tunes are in dadgad and the cd and tabs be purchased on Al's website with immediate download. One of my favorites is "Sheep At The Door" which I have to get back around to again.

I'm just starting my journey into playing in DADGAD (second attempt.....the first one was a disaster but I think that I'm in a better/more positive position to learn now).

I was going to start a new thread requesting learning resources but I did a search and found this thread.....which seems perfect for my noob requirements.

I have a couple of demos of the Bert Jansch tunes I mentioned earlier:

I changed my mind about The Road to Dundee, and now believe Bert played it in Drop D - hence my demo is in drop D. (You can find DADGAD tab online.)

Check out Richard Shindell. He was my gateway to DADGAD.

Reunion Hill and Wisteria are two great songs to learn.

Dar Williams also has a handful of DADGAD tunes (When I was a Boy, February)

And here is a quick DADGAD arrangement I came up with one morning after my family watched the movie.

I've become a big fan of Al Petteway and his DADGAD arrangements when I was looking for a good fingerstyle version of Wayfaring Stranger. I bought his Appalachian Fingerstyle Guitar in DADGAD DVD and fell in love with the beautiful droning and banjo like sound that can be produced in DADGAD.
