Default My New Greenfield G2.2

Hi Everyone, reading Scallywag's recent post on his new Greenfield G4, it sounded like a very close experience to my recent trip to pick up my new Greenfield. Michael's graciousness and generosity with his time and knowledge through the whole build process through to my visit was just wonderful.

And the guitar. Yes, it is something very special.

I went with moon spruce over a nice dark old straight grained indian rosewood and it sounds amazing.

I've never had a guitar sunburst, but always wanted one and so I went with that too.

It is such a joy to play. Effortless and dynamic. The responsiveness kind of startles at first because it just follow what your fingers ask it to do so well.

And the tone. Where to start. It is like trying to describe a great bottle of wine. One can try to use whatever colorful language to capture something wonderful, but I'll just leave it with that it feels like it strikes a perfect balance. A great combination of woody and warm and clear. There is a shimmer and an overall depth which is inspiring.

I guess I'm just I've over the moon about it.

Thank you Michael. You are truly gifted at what you do, but equally as important you were so kind and thoughtful throughout the process. Ending with the shop visit, and yes, the fantastic espresso, it just couldn't have been better.

Josh

Forgot to include photo. Color not coming through accurately on resizing, it is more orangey caramel-ish tone than what is coming across here. Much more lovely in my opinion. But this pic gives an idea anyway. If you are inspecting closely you may think your eyes are seeing reverse image, but it is correct, Yes, it is a lefty.

Yes, the “g” logo gives it away—the pic isn’t reversed, it’s a southpaw.
Just a beautiful instrument, and that sunburst is lovely.

Wonderful, many congrats! What a unique build. Most Greenfields I think share a very similar aesthetic, but yours is really quite different! Special guitar, enjoy those impossibly thick trebles!
