Most blinged out guitar for $2k or less
Many people won’t like this post, but what’s the most blinged out acoustic guitar for under $2k? I have a lot of great sounding guitars, but I want something that is a true beauty to look at, and it should also play and sound as good as possible. I love abalone, probably bc it’s produced naturally, and I love nature. I’m not a professional player. I’m a hobbyist that loves great sounding guitars, but they are also works of art to me. I’m thinking this 922ce might be a good buy.

The Eastman 40 series comes to mind.

If you are willing to look at used guitars, an Alvarez Yairi DY-91 Koa Super Abalone is a very sweet looking guitar that should sound quite good as well. They are modeled after the Martin D-45 with a healthy supply of abalone trim. I see them used for under $2k regularly.

I think your 922 would be a pretty nice guitar for that price. I wish they'd build them with wider than 2 5/32 saddle spacing - and leave that pickguard off at the factory! It's a hassle taking them off a new guitar. Other thing I'd be a little wary of is the size of the port - a little on the large side.

I got y'all beat. Blueberry guitars on Reverb for just under 2k. Now whether it sounds any good is anybody's guess.

Thanks for the suggestions. I’m leaning towards the 922 because I don’t have that body style or an Engelmann spruce top guitar. I also think the beveled edge is pretty cool.

A nice used Guild D55. I’m admittedly partial though. Maybe not enough bling for ya, to me, perfect!
