Default Any Luck Recording In GarageBand Using Multiple Tracks?

I have something I'd like to try doing in GarageBand where I play the "rhythm" section of a piece and then come back over it with the melody. Is it possible to play back the rhythm piece as I play the melody?

Yep. Basic steps:
Lay down track #!.
Go back to the beginning of the track, create New Track.
Make sure Monitor is turned on.
Hit the record button.

That's it.

I recommend that you buy a book on GarageBand. It's a worthwhile investment. I'm constantly referring to mine.
