Soderlund Multiscale Light Baritone
Multiscale Light Baritone by John Soderlund, a small shop builder of acoustic and electric guitars in South Africa. 13 fret neck join, fan fret design. Solid Sitka Spruce top with some nice bear claw figure. Solid Ovangkol back and sides. Check out photos and the video on Reverb:
https://reverb.com/item/30454457-fan...et-small-jumbo Designed to be tuned to D, one full-step below standard tuning. Great for playing and singing songs just a bit lower than the recording artists. Currently set up for medium gauge strings (56/13), but it can be played with heavy gauge (58/14). It is very comfortable and easy to play. With the 13 fret neck join the neck doesn't feel significantly longer than a standard guitar. Specs: Solid Sitka Spruce top Solid Ovangkol back and sides Neck is Sapele with Bloodwood (ergonomic shaping at the heel) Fingerboard and pinless bridge are Imbuia Scale length 27.5 inches at the 6th string/26.5 inches at the 1st string Upper bout 11.75 inches Lower bout 16 inches Depth at endpin is 4.375 inches/at the heel it's 4 inches Nut width 1.73 inches (43.9mm) String spacing at the bridge 2 5/16 inches Buffalo horn nut and saddle (saddle slotted to optimize string spacing) Gotoh 510 tuners with 21:1 gear ratio L.R. Baggs Anthem soundboard pickup. No visible fretwear. The guitar is in excellent shape except for some rubbing/tiny scratching on the back of lower bout (see photo where it is visible when seen at just the right angle). There are a couple of small dull spots around the bridge and rubbing near where arm meets the top of the guitar. No pick guard, but it is very clean. SKB hard case with TSA locks (and the keys!). $1575 or I will consider trades. Thanks for looking. |
