Hiscox no longer supply cases to NA distributor
Just wanna share what I learned from a recent conversation with a Hiscox rep. From what I gather, Hiscox Cases has stopped supplying new inventory to its distributor(s) for the North American market. From here on out the only way to get a Hiscox case (if you can't find old inventory from your dealers) is to order it directly from their website. Here's what is said: "Our plan is to make our cases available for direct purchase on our new website which we hope will go live by the end of this month."
Also, it seems like a change in interior velour/velvet lining color is on the horizon. Quite possibly still similar to 2014-2021 grey silver version but with a green tinge to it. I own 2 of their Pro II cases but so far I can't get my hands on their Artist line. I was and still am thoroughly impressed with the quality of the Pro II case. Hard to beat at this price point imo. I'm curious how good the Artist series is, if you have any experience with it please feel free to share your thoughts.

Well, that explains why I got a "We'll be back soon" message when I tried to check sizing on the Hiscox cases site earlier today.

I hope Hiscox cases remain readily available in the US. My Pro II has been a pack mule for me. I have dragged it on countless road trips and plane trips, and used it several times for shipping. My Martin was shipped off today for a neck reset, and it's riding in the Hiscox.

My local shop told me that because of supply chain difficulties, Hiscox is restricting their manufacturing to proprietary cases for guitar builders, eg Avalon, Furch, and others that sell their guitars with Hiscox cases. So he cannot get any cases to sell to customers. I didn't know about the direct to website option though.

It looks like all dealers in the states and Canada won’t get a supply of new Hiscox cases in the near future (maybe permanently) unless it’s a proprietary case that comes with a guitar from Furch/Avalon/etc. Soon, the only way to get one is to order it directly from Hiscox website once the old inventory from local dealers is gone. The only downside I see is we can’t check the fit in person and possibly (my guess) an increase in price considering they have to ship the case individually to NA customers from the UK. Not sure about the availability south of the border but here in Canada, Hiscox is pretty much sold out everywhere.

Artist cases are lovely…
Quite a bit more pricey than the Pro II models but even more sturdy, with an extra catch, more padding, nicer material on the interior, and a leather handle.
A luxury case, but still very reasonable compared to the alternatives. |

Wow I didn't know the Artist has an extra latch. Thanks for your input. By any chance, do you own the Pro II cases as well? If so, do you think the weight increase of the Artist is noticeable?

Sure hope this is temporary. I finally broke down and bought one earlier this year to replace a Martin case for a D-35. It certainly lives up to all the praise they receive here. Great product.

I use a Pro II, and it has been "da man". Hiscox cases provide premium protection for working musicians - it's disappointing that they are getting harder and harder to acquire. My Pro II is on its third guitar [grin] and is still going strong

I've had a Hiscox Pro II for a couple of years now, and really won't consider another brand unless they become unavailable. But I only needed a case because the very poor quality Martin case of my 07 D 35 fell apart. But my Epi Texan resides in a 65 case that is still in good condition, as is my 70 Guild case is also very solid.
But I bought my Hiscox from Gryphon, the day they pointed out to me how cracked the Martin case was. I'd have bought what they had otherwise. I'm sure they want to keep their guitar makers at the top of their list though. Makes sense if supply is an issue.

Looks like the New Hiscox webpage is up.
https://www.hiscoxcases.com/ However, the Artist series is currently Not Listed.(love my Artist Series Hiscox) Don't know if they just have not had time to add it to the web page or it is discontinued. I just email them asking if the Artist Series is still being made or if the Pro II is the only option now. I also asking for shipping prices to California and availability. I will report back when I get a reply. *They still have an information page on the differences between the series. In which the SD, Pro II & the Artist is shown.Price for the Pro II is 150 pounds. In US currency, that is $207 dollars |
