Default First look at the Bourgeois/Eastman collaboration guitars

At least it’s the first I’ve seen. Complete with pricing and specs. This one is a Fretboard Journal prototype “exclusive” with a Calton case.

$1000 for a case? Also disappointed that they went with a narrower nut. Was hoping it would be 1.75.

The Calton Case seems an odd choice for a "price point" guitar.

If you read the ad you’ll see the Carlton case is just for this FJ exclusive. It has nothing to do with whatever cases will come standard with the collaboration guitars…

I realize that... still seems an odd choice to include (and upcharge for) a $1000 case with a $3000 guitar.

…I suspect FJ knows it’s audience for this “exclusive.” But for a general audience, yep, wouldn’t make sense at all.

This is a disappointment to me. I was expecting guitars in a more affordable price range. Seems pointless to make guitars for 3 or 4k when Eastman is less than half that and Borgouis can be got for a bit more. I don't understand this move.

It says it's a prototype, so maybe the price will be different for the production model.

Obviously they don't read the AGF or they would have seen this current thread 'What would you buy with $3000'.

https://www.acousticguitarforum.com/...d.php?t=622179

They were worthy contenders until they added a $1000 case.

Strange marketing aside, I think these will be excellent guitars.

I am curious to see where they go with these Beastmans.

Thanks Roy! It'll be interesting to watch how the Bourgeois/Eastman arrangement works out. As far as spacing...the 1 23/32" nut and 2.2" saddle spacing is somewhat Bourgeois standard spacing in my dealings? Maybe trying to accommodate both sides?

Thanks for posting, Rev Roy. This all aligns with what's been previously announced, re: price and specs. It's good to see them finally shipping.

Roy, it’s a Calton case, not a Carlton - there’s no letter r in the name.

Eastman aficionados have been waiting for some time now to get a glimpse of the first product from the Bourgeois/Eastman collaboration. This FJ Exclusive clouds the waters somewhat; is $3K (with a plain ol' case) the target price point B/E is aiming for with its standard "Beastman" (thanks Zissou) line?

I hope not. But what do I know?
