The fact that his guitar is too loud for you but he says he can't hear it leads me to suspect that it's less about the specific gear. Some guys just have a different sense of things or if you're older it's possible that hearing damage may play a factor. In such a small situation there shouldn't be such difficulty. If you're playing with electric guitar amps, keys, drums, horns in a small space that's one thing...
The duo partner I mentioned before just needs his vocals really loud and I run into the same issue you do. The equipment isn't the issue it's him. Maybe your partner should get in-ears monitors. You could also try a small monitor like the Mackie SRM 150 or similar that can be put on a mic stand and it can be right next to them instead of on the floor. |

so my hearing should be worse than his. I am going to figure this out. I will start making sure the horns are opposite. i recall this same issue now when i was doing top 40 r&r back in the 80s. and it made a big difference. |

we are playing that "loud "club again on the
23rd of this month. but with this pole thru we may be able to use this in places we were unable to before( limited setup space) We always use at least one k10 mounted on a pole with the sub as a base. this can go in between. it also may make a good bottom for my sunburst m6br8. See how i justify my spending honey!! ha It's coming from Georgia to Vermont so should only take a few days if they ship soon. Last edited by varmonter; 03-09-2018 at 06:31 AM. |
