*Sold* Martin 000 Custom GE Bracing / Swiss Spruce / Quilted Bubinga - Mint
For sale or trade is a Martin 000 Custom - a limited run that N Stuff Music did a few years back. MSRP on these was $6k and they sold for $4,500. AGF price is $3,000 shipped, trade value $3300.
Link to photo album with 26 hi-res photos, including full spec sheet: https://imgur.com/a/JR5wSlc The guitar is in absolute mint condition - I can't find a single blemish or flaw anywhere. Pro setup was done after purchase, with action of 6/64" (low E) and 4/64" (high E) at the 12th fret. Nut slots are filed correctly, minimal neck relief, and it's currently strung with new DR Sunbeams and plays wonderfully. Neck angle is perfect with plenty of saddle height to work with, and frets look near new. Tonally, I'd describe Bubinga as sitting somewhere between Rosewood and Mahogany. To my ears, it has the rich overtones and depth of Rosewood, without having the "woof" or "boominess" that some lightly braced Rosewood Martin 000/OMs have. Very responsive to fingerstyle, but still strums nicely. And the Performing Artist neck profile with 1 3/4" nut is, in my opinion, one of the best neck profiles Martin has offered. It's hard to capture the beauty of the quilted Bubinga in a single photograph, but it has a very nice holographic effect with lots of depth. I have played this guitar at the Pittsburgh store, and considered buying it. It was too close to an existing Martin 000(42) I owned, so I passed.
Prospective buyers - this is a great guitar! Highly recommended.
