I definitely thought about it, the SJ has a unique sound to the trebles and in my opinion is unsurpassed for open tunings, but figured I'd go with a more manageable 16" lower bout vs. the SJ which is 16.75". I'll definitely bring it by when it's done!

Moving right along! Sides are bent showing the general outline of the Mini Jumbo shape, pre-cutaway installation:

Here's the bending jig for the Florentine cutaway piece. Tucked away inside a sandwich of spring steel sheets and an industrial heat blanket.

Hope this one can travel with you to BIG next year. The ABW set in this build is gorgeous and I can’t wait to see the snakewood binding on it. I upgraded my Taylor K-22 with snakewood bridge pins and snakewood tuner buttons and it complimented the koa perfectly.

Congrats!

I will probably bring it - just for fun.

I always look forward to a build thread featuring one of Marc's beautiful instruments!

Yes! A great set he mentioned, I can’t wait to see it with the finish!

I made a special request for Marc to do a rosette style he hadn't done before of a geometric nature and I'm glad to say he knocked it out of the park! Beautiful pieces of Wenge inlayed to perfection, I'm really looking forward to seeing how it looks once the box is closed, should look very nice from the side against the African Blackwood. Have no idea how he managed to do this without the use of CNC but I'm glad he also did it for the Wenge Model M he will be bringing to the La Connor show in May! A feast for the eyes

Mine is on the far right:

Wow--the rosette looks great!

Looks similar to some that Tom Doerr has been doing lately as well.

Great work with so many tiny pieces!
