I can see how that can happen! He does an arm bevel, I asked about a rib bevel. He said, "I haven't done that, but it's just a matter of engineering it. I'm sure I can do that."

Thanks for sharing. I was intending to attend and then life got in the way. Looks like some really nice builders' wares.
Chris, happy to do so. Wasn't sure I could go. Heading there Friday was a last minute decision. I wouldn't go on Saturday because, as much as love guitars, I'm just not a fight-the-crowd kind of guy. It's just too hard to get ahold of a guitar and then get it to a quiet place to play.

Mike, Thank you for bringing a slice of the Woodstock festival to those of us who aren't able to attend this one. I'm very much looking forward to Santa Barbara next year!
Doug, my pleasure. Hope you'll do the same for that show because I know I won't get there.

Leo Buendia had these. The center guitar was listed as SOLD, and had a price sheet that listed it at just over $17K.
Just for the reference, $17K is based on the previous price list, one that I ordered about three years ago

And for the craftsmanship of that guitar, I am happy to pay over $17K Thank you for the pics!!!

Phil "riorider'"s Baranik is absolutely killer.

Eric, is Jason playing a "thmall" guitar in the first post?

Now this is goofy... I was on the other side, behind the camera when Eric was getting his pictures taken and now here it is on AGF. John Osthoff provided all the AGF ers with nicely engraved pins. And not to mention, he makes a really beautiful guitar too!

Plus there were random sitings of J.R. Rogers throughout the day! More to come...

Ps. One thing that surprised me was how many of these guitars I have seen on the internet (this forum and others). But You've got to see and hear these beauties in person!

Mike - Had a chance to play the McCubbin macassar ebony and see why you raved about it. The Circas were fantastic as were, of course, all those guitars up on the stage - particularly the Krauts and Buendias. Biggest surprise for me was Sharleen Simmons, who sounds neither Swedish nor Canadian, but builds a helluva guitar. Another thank you to John Osthoff for the "quality" name badges and his usual killer guitars. I thought this year's show was a little bigger, louder, busier, but warmer.

Don't you mean "Tho Thmall?" . I'm here all week.

BTW Thx for the Baranik photos. Headstock is killer.

And let me take the opportunity to say Joel Michaud, other than being a great guy, is a risen star.

Surely that must be a record for someone who is still under apprenticeship? How much of that is predicated by the extraordinary rosette, which clearly took many, many hours to execute?

Did anyone play it? Sound commensurate with the tag? The fan is interesting, since it's not something seen too often on Somogyi/apprentice guitars.

So wish I could be there, so many thanks to all for putting up these droolworthy pics. Perhaps one day I can get over there...

Cheers.
Steve

Wow. The guitars all look so stunning especially Mike's headstock. And I see that Antoine Dufour got around just fine! I think the greatest pleasure I would have had at the festival was having the opportunity to meet Antoine Dufour, a legend in my eyes. Maybe next time...

I really, really like Mike Baranik's colourful inlays and sense of aesthetics. I wish there was more photos of his recent work on his website -- or alternately on Facebook. The guitars featured on his website are nice -- but some of the more recent ones I've seen are simply phenomenal.
