Good on you, Andrew. Your dad and I exchanged some late night PMs here shortly before his death. I liked him.

Why did you choose the lion on the right? The one on the left looks more tightly joined.

I chose the woods for the one on the right to tie into the theme for the whole guitar. I actually went through and loosened up the joints for most of the pieces. It has a very different look being so close in the photo than actual size, but I think you might see what I mean when I have it in the fingerboard. Well at least I hope so.

I'm thinking you could make a very cool logo out of your father's Lion of Judah inlay.

Very nice Andrew. Not bad for a beginner!

I know I am speaking for many when I saw we all wish you the best and for great success with your building.

Great job Andrew! I have one of your dad's early guitars and love it. Wishing you success in your guitar building and hoping that you're finding some healing and a sense of closeness to your dad by working in his shop and doing what he loved to do...

Andrew,

Another OMEGA fan here. That one looks similar in shape to my MJC ... looks to be a great start you have there. I'm was also excited to see that you picked up the Lion of Judah theme in this first one. Keep up the good work, and Best of Luck!

John

I wondered if the fill in the one on the right was intentional; it does add some drama. I wouldn't know how to begin an inlay like that.

Aaah a chip off the old block. Great start Andrew. Dad was a friend of mine and I'm happy to see you carrying on.

Loooks like you are headed in the right direction Andrew and are making the best out of the circumstances... it is really all you can do. I am certain your Dad will help steady your hand when you have doubts...

Trust me I didn't know how to begin it either. I had the broken blades and late nights to prove it. Just a matter of taking what I remembered my dad doing and learning from my mistakes... my many mistakes haha.
