I like what you're doing with the side braces. Makes a lot of sense on all levels.

Sweet rosette too!

I would suspect it holds the cutaway straight and true over the long term.

Here is a look inside my Olson #1301 so you all can see how Jim does it:

Lovely Dennis,

You luthiers amaze me! The bracing and kerfing work inside the guitar look as good as most people's finished projects.

BTW. I think I've got the same router table, maybe I need to buy some wood?

Thanks everyone for the kind words. Life has finally slowed down a bit to let me get back to the guitars. Many things happening on my end and just finished on the weekend a show/luthiers gathering near me, lots of fun and I know I shouldn't have walked towards the wood they had sitting out $$. Any way the binding will be on this guitar soon and I have to get on to making the necks for these guitars, I have less than a week to do it since I am having this filmed and the guy that is doing it will be leaving for two months in less than two weeks. I also have two other guitars that I am working on at this time, a Small Consort and a slope dread that I call a K45. Hope to have all 4 guitars for the Montreal guitar show in July.

Pappy,
The router table that you see in the picture, I have it mounted to the side of my table saw. I helps when I have extra long stuff when cutting on the saw but I put hinges on it to fold down so it will be out of the way when I don't need it anymore.

This is of the necks first gluing.

After some machining.

Head stock wings or extensions glued on.

Finger boards to be slotted

Hey everyone, I have been busy with these guitars and will be putting up more pictures soon. Since this guitar is a Cedar and Mahogany guitar, I had a friend help put together a small clip, of some of the building of these guitars and the guitar being played is also a Cedar/Mahogany SJ guitar that I built some years ago.
Let me know what you think, we still may add some to this.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m8l7joYp23I
