Default New Progress

Just got a new update of the progress on my L-32... I'm a picture junky when it comes to the build threads so I'll cut to the chase...

You can kind of see the nice straight Brazilian fretboard back there

This one's a bit of a tease... top and back cut out... Classic ivoroid bound rosette

Travis,

Starting to look like a guitar, and not just a bunch of pretty pieces! Especially like the grain of the back now that it's cut and sanded a bit. Nice color - love the BRW fingerboard as well. Things are moving quickly - exciting!

Hey Gang...

John has been giving me some picture updates but haven't taking the time to add them here... So, I've got a bunch to link in for your enjoyment....

Honestly not sure what is going on here... some sort of prepping to attach the top and back to the side structure:

Braced and Carved-- ready for closing!

Seeing the guitar taking shape, I'm really getting excited... and nervous about it. I've never played a guitar this size (I know a leap of faith) and I'm beyond eager to give it go and see how she sounds! John told me back when we were planning this that he really likes this model. It can take pretty much anything that comes it's way... and it's compares similarly to an OM with a bit narrower upper bout. The 13 fret design should also give it a fun twist... the bridge lies a bit closer to the heart of the lower bout giving a unique voice. We'll see! Can't wait...

Back gluing

Top gluing

Binding taking it's place... I really like the black/white purfing peaking through in spots (I think that's the term) going on here

I love the look of that first set of Brazilian, but that one you picked is great also.

I hope you enjoy playing it when you get it.

Travis,

I think you'd better change your sig line - I think the L-32 is going to either beat your SJ or end up arriving literally on top of one-another. I am BIG_TIME jealous! How in the world are you going to decide which one to play? Not enough hours in the day - and we should ALL have such problems ... .

Can't wait to see this gem with some finish on it - it literally glows now! Just beautiful - enjoy!

John H.
