Dang Me that is one sweet looking guitar! If it sounds half as good as it looks you really got something there! Congratulations

I look forward to hearing more on the tone when the shock and awe passes a little

Early Impressions:

-Whoa it's light... it's a featherweight guitar, although to be fair it's actually a smaller guitar which may lend to that fact

-Love the neck! It's got a perfect shape and feel for me. It's 1 3/4" but it doesn't get fat or wide up the neck- The contour is a bit beefier than a Taylor neck. The profile- I would liken it to a nice rounded C shape.

-Truly a work of art... for example the side profile of the brazilian fingerboard is so grain-filled and detailed- Wood truly is beautiful!

-Holding the guitar, I thought it would feel a ton smaller. But the smaller upper bought only feels marginally smaller than an OM. I like it

I'm in awe so no sound critiques yet, but I must say this: Since selling my OM-28JM I've been missing that guitar daily BUT This Mayes will likely fill that void.

Now my non professional shots under the tree:

Nice Guardian Case with a built in hygrometer

Waverlys with Ivoroid buttons- They match the guitar perfectly. Right down to the graining in the buttons

Default Sound Clip

Well I've got a sound clip for you all... I'm not a fingerstyle, instrumental player-- I like to sing! BUT here's my attempt at a common guitar-testing tune. It'll give an idea of the sound of my Mayes.

It's recorded using 2 large diaphragm condenser mics, each panned hard left and right. No other treatment to the sound.

I'm hoping this file hosting site works... I can't figure out to how to get it to open in another window and automatically play- So follow the link and Press Play to hear it...

Travis, nice job. Boy that L-32 sounds good ... very similar to my MJ-55 - a sweet voice to that baby. Got some bottom to it, with a nice balanced presentation. Congrats!
