I agree with others that your slothead design works very well with your symmetric headstock profile....First time that I believe you've done it.

That is a beautiful guitar. Every bit as aesthetically pleasing as any all koa guitar I've ever seen. I can't wait to hear it too.

I spent a little time in the "studio" this afternoon and created a Saint Patrick's Day tribute for you. Well, OK, mostly I did it for my own amusement. I am putting it up a day early because tomorrow is the one day of the year on which I have no control over my destiny; my birthday.

This is the All-Walnut rendering "Carolan's Concerto", rhythm and melody tracks, with my assistance.

I like the tone of this guitar, it's sweet and musically pleasing to the ear. The notes ring out just so.

I recommend a morning Ducati adventure tomorrow. But don't stay out too late. Ya never know what the UPS man might be delivering...

Happy Birthday

Tomorrow I have 3 friends coming over for a few hours of violin quartet music. I think we'll play some Telemann and some Geminiani . . . Or however it's spelled. Although I am actually more of a fiddler, I really like trying to play this more complex stuff.

Thank you for the well-wishes.

While Bruce has been enjoying his Birthday being part of a violin quartet, some deliveries were made to his workshop from Jeff Hoffee. I asked for the case for this guitar to be a different color than the black Hoffee case that came with my last guitar from Bruce (L-00). So this time It's dark green. This will help dumb ole me from grabing the wrong guitar and putting it in the car.

It looks like it fits, but it might take some time to get used to the neck!

Thank you, Scott! The Coffee you gave me is exactly as you described, and I am blending the two Ethiopians 2-1 with spectacular results. I served it to the violin girls on my birthday and got good reviews from all.

While I have NOT been hard into documenting the latest Pernambuco L00 here in the forum, it IS coming right along. I am reapportioning the structure slightly in this one compared to the last two, and look forward to hearing the result. Here it is this afternoon:

Actually, I was able to get the back clamped and glued before supper yesterday. Today I cleaned it up and put in a graft to match the binding. I chose to try Jatoba as a binding material for the first time.

Although it is a WRX, my stripped down model, I am putting a simple black purfling line is to set the plainish looking Jatoba off from the also plainish (though BRIGHT) Pernambuco. You'll see later.
