I just sold my PRS 2011 Quatro and my 2014 CU22.
I still have a CE22, a SC245 with 57/08's, and a Zack Meyers that is for sale. I am presently enamored with a brazboard, IR rosewood neck, CU 22 for $3K. I love the CU 22 and the Modern Eagle Quatro- both 2 humbucker guitars, because they split so well. I love the 53/10 PU's (out of production) they are more clear and mistakes shine through due to their clarity and note separation. They are incredible PU's on Quatro. The 57/08's are warm and split super too. I will probably sell all of my remaining PRS's and get another ME Quatro or another CU22 with a trem and a Pattern neck? The 1990's PRS 's with wide fat necks have more shoulder and feel like big Gibson SG, 50's carve, necks. Really nice. Whats notable about the PRS's are fatter and harder fret wire, 25" scale on most, and 10" radius. Super comfortable. They also have good intonation and stay in tune forever, even the trem models. |

My new book came in from Amazon.ca. I hope this thread doesn't make me go out and buy a PRS

I have a PRS SE Singlecut Korina and it's a darned nice guitar. The stock pickups were decent but I replaced them with Duncan 59's so the output was consistent with my other electrics. The finish may be a bit thick and plasticky but that really doesn't bother me.

Duncan 59's are great pickups. Too bad they didn't come stock on more guitars in the bridge instead of the JB (although the JB/59 combo is popular).

It's a beauty, Wasper. I've read nothing about positive things about all of the SE signature guitars, regardless of whether you know how the guitarist is or not. That includes your Akesson, Tremonti, Allender, etc. Just great, all around guitars.
Did you buy the guitar because of Akesson or just because you liked the guitar? I'll admit I don't think I've ever heard Opeth before. |

This one had the fat/wide neck with jumbo frets , extra deep cutaway, adjustable bridge, darker bird inlays and it was very light considering it was an extra thick body. I also liked the silver knobs and overall look.. in some lighting it looks black, in other light you can see the dark brown maple top (like shown above in the camera flash). Truthfully, I was handling a lot of guitars that day and once that one was in my hands, I never put it down. The salesman was walking me through the store showing me more guitars and I was clutching that SE in the picture... he turned to me and asked if he needed to show any more guitars and I said "nope, this is the one'. Here is a picture of the bird inlay colors between my electric and my PRS acoustic I used to own (SE Angelus Custom spruce/rosewood). The acoustic had the normal bird inlay color, where the SE Akesson has a darker green color that also almost turns black in some lighting. Nice touch in my opinion (you can also see how much bigger the jumbo frets are on the electric).

Just got my very first PRS this week. Definitely a fan!
Not an American made one, but its still a great guitar. Picked it up second hand but its in minty condition. Has one of the nicest maple caps i've seen on the SE models. (IMO...i maybe biased though. )

I just recently acquired my first PRS, an S2 Custom 22 Semi-Hollow. It is really a fantastic guitar and very comfortable to play. The neck works really well for my hand and it has a lot of different sounds on offer with the coil-tap.

I own 3 PRS, a 1999 CU 22 Soapbar (only 500 made) with Lollar P90s. A 2004 CU 33 with WCR Darkburst humbuckers and a 2006 Hollowbody Spruce with stock pickups. I owned a 1990s Single Cut, but it couldn't compare to my Les Pauls so I sold it. Magnificent guitars, but only the Hollowbody came with pickups that were palatable. With the pickup upgrades the two CU 22s are great rock/blues guitars. The HB is a superstar right out of the box.

Wow!!! Is that one that you walked into the guitar store and it was there or did you need to order it?
