Default Does anyone ever check out Woodsongs Radio Hour?

I browse Woodsongs Old-Time Radio Hour occaisionally to see who they have on. I noticed Danny Schmidt was on and a group called Giveway. If you want to see a group of cute Scottish girls play with jaw-dropping precision then you should check it out. (Show #526) I find it odd that when they talk, they have a heavy accent, but you hardly notice an accent when they're singing.
Danny Schmidt is an amazing songwriter, and not a bad guitar player. He was the reason I wanted to see the show in the first place.

Thanks for that link, Todd. I watched the archived performance of Tommy Emmanuel. The playing was phenomenal and the interview portions were really informative.

Woodsongs is an interesting place... everyone from Kathy Mattea to Tommy E, HEM, Richie Havens, Muriel anderson, Bela Fleck, Jakob Dylan, Ralph Stanley, Rory Block, John Hammond, Crash Test Dummies, Delbert McClinton, Janis Ian, Ed Gerhard..... and Scrap-O-Matic.. for a short play list...

Rather diverse, I would say...

I forgot to mention Dan Crary, show #521. He's a one-man flatpickin show. I saw him in person a few years ago. I didn't expect much from a solo player using a flatpick, but I came away totally impressed and entertained. If you're pressed for time, fast forward to the end of the show and see what he can really do with that flatpick.

Yes I like that show a lot but only seem to catch it occasionally. I saw Jakob Dylan on it last time. Great show.

I enjoy checking out the Woodsongs site periodically. The wide range of music appeals to me.

I could live without that goofy host.
