Ah yes the new amp day thread. I've been playing through a '72 Fender Twin that I got in about 1992 or so since that time with my band. I lugged and dragged that thing everywhere. About ten years ago I played this little Mesa amp in a music shop and loved it so much I got it. It was a low watt light weight combo that would be Sooooooo much easier to bring to gigs and at this point we were putting everything in the PA anyway so I didn't need 100 watts of Fender power.

It was a lot easier to carry and it's a great amp that I still have but... I kept going back to the Twin.

I probably will keep going back to the Twin but I though I would try another low watt alternative and building an amp has been on my bucket list for a while. It's truly a kick arse amp and well equipped to overcome any drummer in the band.

And now I reveal to you the 18 watt Marshall clone.

This was from a Mojo Tone kit. What a fantastic little amp this thing is !

Installing the pots and power supplies in the chassis

wiring the turret board:

Ready to bench test

Light bulb resistance tester

And the best part A fellow luthier with a CNC was kind enough to make the logo for me. The font is called 'Amplify' based on the Marshall font.

Fantastic! If I ever build an amp kit it'll be an 18 watt Marshall clone. The logo and amp face look fantastic!

I know I totally dig the logo!

This thing is LOUD too. This particular one by Mojo is also higher gain then the typical kits too. Plenty of power for live gigs.

That's what I would opt for also, the higher gain model.
