Emerald X5
Just got my Emerald X5 travel guitar yesterday. What a great little guitar! Small guitar with full size scale, all carbon fiber, with a B Band pickup, and Sperzel tuners.
More volume and much richer tone than the Baby Taylor. I have been looking at getting a Rainsong as a "beater" that could be left in the car. Decided not to spend the money and then found this thanks to another forum member. I couldn't be happier and dealing directly with Alistair Hay of Emerald Guitars was a pleasure. This guitar will serve many purposes for me.

Tell me where I can find out more about this X5. I didn't see it listed on the web site. Thanks.

(The price information will, of course, need to be shared privately.)
Congratulations, MJH. Would love to see some pictures. Sounds like a great little guitar for many occasions when a full-size one might not be the best choice. cotten |

I have heard and read so many good things about Emerald Guitars, I would really love to have one or two to audition. I have played a number of Rainsong (and 1 CA) guitars. I was absolutely STUNNED at the tone, ease of play and acoustic as well as amped sound. I have yet to try an Emerald, but I'm hoping....

That's pretty silly to have another domain for their travel guitar that's not even linked to their main site. Oh Well Thanks again, Ed

Got mine yesterday, too. It's a cute little beggar, kind of nice for noodling, can be stashed in trunk of car on July day without regret. Can be carried aboard airliners and put in the overhead luggage compartment.
I wish it had a boomier bass, but that goes against the laws of physics. I do like the full-size fretboard, though. Haven't plugged it in, yet. /john
