As for Jim and his guitars, a lot of people like to hate on his success and the fact that he now uses CNC but it still takes skill to add CNC to your guitars it's just a different kind of skill. Anything that improves the final product is good IMO and there is no doubt creating consistency in the mundane parts improves fit and finish as well as playability. I really don't see any difference between using CNC and using really well designed jigs and fixtures in conjunction with powered hand tools. The heart and soul still needs to be added by hand and that's what really matters.
I agree completely!

Here is a recording studio shot of the song I wrote with Daniel as we were recording it in nashville.... keep in mind this is shot from my phone in the booth so you hear chatter and the engineer working.

Great to see you recording - Nashville - WOW!
Checked out DBM's website, great sounds, reminds me of an Aussie friend, Brent Larkham, very similar sound and style to my ear. He also recorded in Nashville.
Thank you so much for your kind offer to visit and try the Olsons, it's unlikely due to distance, but very much appreciated. Keep up the good work.

Hi Keith...

Hey thanks for the great chat at Healdsburg...it was great fun to meet you and talk with you over at John Grevens table!

By the way...whatever happened to #1301, I don't see it in your signature/instrument line?

Best Regards

My folks live not too far from Olson's place and I've always wanted to visit and actually play one of his guitars. Charlie Hoffman, from whow I've purchased two guitars, says that Jim can be hard to hold of. Does anyone know if Olson minds having people visit, especially if they're not in the market, at least not immediately?

Call him:

(763) 780-5301

He answers the phone and is very easy to talk to.

Remains one of my favorite builds ever

I am fairly confident that there won't ever be another built like this one!

1301 went to a guy that just had to have it... and 1350 was the one that replaced it....interestingly enough because 1350 was made out of the adjacent piece of Brazilian rosewood to my dread Olson #1325, the matching dread, except with an Adi top. Everything else is identical

The best part outside of a stellar instrument... is it will hold it's value pretty well comparatively speaking!
